Denise Louise Battey, a 50-year-old black woman, was stabbed to death Friday, Aug. 10, in the 100 block of Allard Street in Norwalk, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner?s office, said Battey?s body was discovered in her bedroom by deputies doing a welfare check. She was pronounced dead at 4:04 p.m.
A preliminary coroner report shows she sustained several stab wounds to the chest.
