CHEW Valley School built on the success of receiving an outstanding Ofsted inspection report by posting an excellent set of A-level results.
The school received the seal of approval from inspectors at the beginning of the academic year and capped off the year by seeing four of its students make the grades to attend Oxford or Cambridge.
Some 25 per cent of A-level entries were graded A or A*, while one in ten scored straight A grades.
The four candidates with Oxbridge offers who made their grades to take up places in the autumn were James Braidley (A*, A*, A, A), who will read maths at Queens' College, Cambridge, Fred Cotterill (A*, A, A), who will read politics, psychology and sociology at Girton College, Cambridge, Cora Salkovskis (A*, A*, A), who will read history at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, and Tom Vipond (A*, A*, A), who will read Chemistry at Keble College, Oxford.
The school's head teacher Mark Mallett said: "We are absolutely delighted with the performance of the class of 2012 who have covered themselves in glory after contributing so much to the school over the last seven years.
"Their success is greatly deserved and we, their teachers, wish them the very best fortune as they leave the school and go on to the next phase of their lives."
